What a dramatic finish. What a dramatic match. I haven't watched much football in the last year, but wow. That was one of the best games I've seen in a long time. And who would have expected anything less? It's always a tactical battle and such an intense match when Forge host Cavalry, and their … Continue reading Forge 1-0 Cavalry – Match Analysis

Toronto FC 0-0 Vancouver Whitecaps – Match Analysis
After a stellar unbeaten run to start the season, the Vancouver Whitecaps have slowed their speed, desperately trying to manage a condensed list of fixtures. It feels as though they're yet to come away from ninety minutes of MLS action without losing a key player to injury, and this match could prove more catastrophic than desired as both Mathias Laborda and Andrés Cubas suffered the same fate. Nevertheless, the Whitecaps have strength within the depth of their team, and that is exactly what we saw as they secured a hard-earned draw against TFC. Here is my match analysis of the Whitecaps' 0-0 draw with Toronto FC, in the form of dissecting the three main stars of the match.
FC Dallas 0-1 Vancouver Whitecaps – Match Analysis
For the first time in club history, the Vancouver Whitecaps have won their first four opening matches of the MLS season. They continue be one of the standout sides in the league, playing an attractive brand of football along the way. Here is my match analysis of their win over FC Dallas, and how they dominated the Bulls from start to finish.
Jesper Sørensen – Vancouver Whitecaps – Tactical Analysis – 2025
Vancouver were far and away the best Canadian side inside Major League soccer last season. Showing much in the way of promise and potential, the Caps still made the decision to change coaches and bring Jesper Sørensen into the equation in place of Vanni Sartini, hoping for better fulfilment behind all that promise this season. Since the opening day of the season, the Whitecaps haven't looked back.

Working to make everyday different, I'd often create games and activities that centered around … Continue reading Coaching Newsletter #9: Why dodgeball is the best game for all ages
Coaching Newsletter #8 – Being the best is overrated
Let me tell you a secret. I’ve worked with professional athletes across a few different sports now. (That's not the secret). There’s something that’s surprised me, fascinated me, and inspired me all at the same time. One singular thing. One singular thing that they all share in common. Every single one of them. They all … Continue reading Coaching Newsletter #8 – Being the best is overrated
Why Jesse Marsch is perfect for the Canadian Men’s National Team
The American coach made his name across an incredibly successful spell at RB Salzburg between 2019-2021, but hasn't been able to hold down the fort since. His brief stints at RB Leipzig and Leeds United showed signs of promise, but also many moments of doubt. So with Marsch being out of a top-tier job for over a year, it comes as a surprise that he would suddenly take over the Canadian Men's National Team. However, Marsch's management style and tactical preferences perfectly fit the current need within the Canadian set-up.
Pep Guardiola – Manchester City – Tactical Analysis (2023-24)
This might finally be the year. It might finally be the year that Pep Guardiola and Manchester City don't win the Premier League. Despite that, they've still been the most tactically complex team in the league, carrying on from much of the tactics that brought them a treble-winning triumph last season. Here is what Pep Guardiola has imposed in 2023-24, continuing to make City one of the most dominant forces in the world.
